Granite church from the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries. Beautiful dome with pendentives over the transept.

Perched on a rocky outcrop, it is a former XNUMXth century priory dependent on the Benedictine abbey of Luçon. It was built by the monks of the Sainte-Croix-de Talmont abbey.

It is a good example of XNUMXth century Romanesque architecture. It is a simple church, with a Latin cross plan. Of the original construction, there remains the main facade, the transept, the bell tower and its staircase. These parts of the building are listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments.

The interior consists, for the most part, of a 1650 carved wooden altarpiece in the choir (restored in 2002) which represents Saint-Laurent, patron saint of the parish. It also contains two side panels in polychrome wood from the XNUMXth century as well as a wooden crucifix from the XNUMXth century.
