Granite church from the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries. Beautiful dome with pendentives over the transept.
Perched on a rocky outcrop, it is a former XNUMXth century priory dependent on the Benedictine abbey of Luçon. It was built by the monks of the Sainte-Croix-de Talmont abbey.
The church of Aubigny is a magnificent example of 1650th-century Romanesque architecture. Its simple and elegant structure follows a Latin cross plan. Among the original elements are the main façade, the transept, and the bell tower, which are listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. Inside, the decor is particularly notable for a carved wooden altarpiece dating from XNUMX, located in the choir.
Depicting Saint Lawrence, the patron saint of the parish, this altarpiece was restored in 2002, thus preserving all the beauty of this heritage.
