1. Trailhead

Departure from the car park of the Place du Champ de Foire.

2. House of the Red Cap

At the corner of Place du Champ-de-Foire and Place Saint-Jean, house from 1537, in Flamboyant Gothic style, with flames framing the windows and heads of figures on lintel.

3. Fairground Square

Place du Champ de Foire corresponded to the lower courtyard of the castle of the Viscounts of Thouars

Maison Jeanneton

4. Jeanneton House

It dates from 1825. Its inverted hull roof is covered with scale tiles. It was built on the site of the Saint-Jean church demolished in 1821.

5. Rue des Basses-Prisons

The "Low Prisons" are the remains of the ramparts of the castle of the Viscounts of Thouars, founders of the city.

Vallée du Marillet

7. Marillet Valley

This valley of about two kilometers, developed by the municipality from 1994 to 1998, has become a place for walking and hiking. At the start, the path runs along the old reach which brought water to the Ricordeau mill, from which some remnants of walls can still be seen in the brambles. The valley has regained the natural aspect of a typical bocage humid valley bottom with its hedges on slopes, sunken path, pollard trees, old walls, ponds and alluvial meadows.

Note the well located at the edge of the road. This is a circular granite well. In the past, it was supposed to supply the whole locality.
