Points of interest

1. Trailhead

Departure from the parking lot of the Aubigny sports hall.

Le Plessis

2. Le Plessis

The locality of Le Plessis for which we have little information but which, by its name, would also date back to the same Gallo-Roman period; this name generally designating an enclosure or sometimes a fortification.

Le Moulin au Geay

3. The Moulin au Geay

This term mill has the same Latin origin as the word "meule", to which was added the name of the owners: the Geay family. It was a windmill of which there are no remains.

4. La Bigaudiere

Originally "la Bégaudière". The monks of Talmont had settled in this village around 1058-1074. They had obtained it from the Sieur d'Aubigneo in exchange for the supply of wood taken from the forest of Saint-Jean-d'Orbestier and which thus enabled the construction of the framework of the church of Saint-Laurent d'Aubigny.

Le Pin Parasol

5. The Umbrella Pine

The umbrella pine that gives its name to this path is located near the place called La Bigaudière. In the Catholic Vendée, it was planted on the occasion of a happy family event such as the birth of the first child.

6. Roads

Take care when crossing departmental road 36 at a place called La Voirie.
