The GRAND R: National Stage

A true home of live performance in La Roche-sur-Yon, Le Grand R operates across three venues: the Manège, the Théâtre, and the Maison Gueffier, dedicated primarily to literature. As a national theater, it offers a multidisciplinary program that fosters dialogue between theater, dance, music, circus, puppetry, literature, and shows for young audiences, while also supporting artistic creation and artists in residence. For its 2026-2027 season, Le Grand R places diverse perspectives at the heart of its programming, with shows such as "Au crépuscule" by Vincent Warin, "Fêu" by Fouad Boussouf, and "Roméo et Juliette" by Guillaume Séverac-Schmitz, as well as numerous literary, musical, circus, and children's events.

QUAI M: A venue for contemporary music

Opened in 2022 in the train station district, Quai M is the essential venue for contemporary music in La Roche-sur-Yon. This contemporary music venue features two performance spaces, the Delta and the Club, as well as five rehearsal studios, and supports the performance, creation, and practice of music. Its programming showcases emerging artists as well as national and international stars, with a wide diversity of styles. In 2026-2027, Quai M invites audiences to discover Solann, Ben l'Oncle Soul, Molécule, Camille, Sébastien Tellier, Les Amazones d'Afrique, and Magma, among others, not to mention local bands and the numerous events that keep the La Roche-sur-Yon music scene vibrant.

LA GATERIE: Contemporary Creation Space

Located at 17 Place du Marché, in the heart of the city center, La Gâterie is a non-profit space dedicated to contemporary art and artistic experimentation. Since 2010, it has showcased contemporary creation in various forms and hosted exhibitions, workshops, and other artistic events. The 2026-2027 season promises to be particularly conducive to discovery and hands-on experience, with exhibitions, talks, and workshops for all ages; it will notably begin with "La Naissance de Bourcatine" (The Birth of Bourcatine), an immersive installation by the artist Clémence Chiron, on display from September 26 to November 7, 2026.
