On the northern outskirts of the city, in the Terres Noires sports complex, not far from the national stud farm, the La Roche Sur Yon racecourse covers 20 hectares in a wooded setting.

Created in 1863, with its functional infrastructures, it offers excellent visibility on the slopes. Its reputation was forged on a beautiful steeplechase course where horses from the West and the South-West regularly compete.

Improvements are underway, in particular the creation of 20 additional boxes.

Appreciated by both riders and walkers, the Terres Noires racecourse offers five meetings per year in May, June, September and October.
