La Jarrie educational farm is a space for discussion where you can take the time to look, listen, feel, discover, share... All activities are by reservation, including self-guided tours.
La Ferme de la Jarrie is an ancestral site, emblematic of the commune of Nesmy and its surroundings. Faced with the growing distance of today's adults and the disconnection with Nature, fostered by the omnipresence of screens and amusement parks, a team of three volunteers decided, in 2016, to create the association "La Ferme Pédagogique de la Jarrie."
Today, the association has around thirty members, including around twenty active members. It offers an enriching alternative for families in the department, as well as for passing visitors. It also serves as a privileged learning center for educational institutions (schools, high schools, training centers).
The public opening took place on March 24, 2019, and immediately attracted the attention of educational institutions, whether for adult training, school activities for children, or programs for people with disabilities. La Ferme de la Jarrie has established itself as an essential place for families in the department, often seeking a way to reconnect with nature.
To date, more than 1,000 visitors have visited the farm. Volunteers, with their skills and expertise, play a key role in the life of this place, sharing their knowledge with the interns, who are also involved in the smooth running of the site.
