Every October, Vendée is adorned in pink to support the fight against breast cancer. And this year, La Joséphine is already blowing its 11 candles ! The 100% female event returns from October 4 & 10, 2025 in the municipalities of the agglomeration and the department, before the big meeting at La Roche-sur-Yon, Sunday, October 12.

A pink wave that does not weaken

“The years pass, but The JosephineIt doesn't age. It's still as pink, friendly and feminine as ever! " emphasizes BĂ©atrice Bellamy, municipal councilor responsible for Sporting Events. More than just a race, it's a real collective momentum that grows bigger every year.

And there is urgency: 600 new cases of breast cancer are recorded each year in VendĂ©e. “It is the second most common cancer in the department, after prostate cancer,” recalls Manuel Guibert, administrator of the VendĂ©e committee of the League Against Cancer.

Everywhere in Vendée
 and even in Quebec!

Nearly a hundred partner municipalities will offer courses between October 4 and 10, a chance to warm up before the big day. Then, it's time for the 5 km walk or run in La Roche-sur-Yon Sunday, October 12: an eagerly awaited, joyful and unifying moment.

And La Joséphine is also exported: to Drummondville (Quebec), twinned town with La Roche-sur-Yon, the participants also put on the pink t-shirt. The 3rd local edition will take place on 5 October.

The million euro mark will soon be reached 🎉

Since its creation in 2015, La JosĂ©phine has already made it possible to donate almost €955 to the League Against Cancer. This 11th edition should cross the symbolic bar of one million euros !

These funds finance:

  • wellness workshops and socio-aesthetic care for patients,
  • support for caregivers,
  • prevention and awareness-raising actions (such as self-examination busts),
  • and of course, research.

A concrete impact that gives even more meaning to each step.

How to participate ?

Registration is open from Wednesday, August 27 to Saturday, October 11.

Register
  • In partner municipalities : until Saturday, October 7 at 15 p.m.
  • In Intersport stores (excluding La Roche-sur-Yon) : until Monday, September 30 at 23:59 p.m. (while stocks last).
  • In La Roche-sur-Yon (Intersport and Place de la VendĂ©e) : Saturday, October 11 from 13 p.m. to 18 p.m., deadline.
