What if we told you that it is possible to spend a whole afternoon hunting for rare pearls in La Roche-sur-Yon without straying too far from the city center? ✨🤭

Second-hand clothes are in fashion, vintage is back in force and thrift stores are making more and more people happy in all the big cities of France! ❤️

We give you an update on our afternoon in the thrift stores in The rock on yon ! 📰

Belle Lurette, a leap into the past rue Clémenceau

A veritable Ali Baba's cave of undeniable authenticity, the Belle Lurette thrift store located on rue Georges Clémenceau has no equal. More than a thrift store, there are accessories, decorative objects and a desire to fight against overconsumption. 💪👏

“I'm in love with things from the era, with know-how. »

For Élise, installed since July 2020, the objective is to push to consume differently, to change habits. In his shop, which is not a consignment store, you can find clothes from the 70s to the 2000s. 😄

Even the decoration is the result of bargain hunting and flea markets! Clothes ? Carefully chosen, repaired, cleaned, highlighted by his team in this time capsule where we meet customers of each generation. 👥

While one of us nearly fell for a vintage Coca-Cola cooler, another wandered into the leather handbag corner for a few fittings. We'll be back, that's for sure! 😁

Les Ateliers de Paulette, a second life for objects

This is not a thrift store, nor a consignment store. Yet we can't help but tell you about it! At the intersection of the Place du Marché, the Ateliers de Paulette offer all kinds of objects, including clothes. Creating something new with something old is her department! 🤓🪡🧵

"That was my grandmother's name!" Justine tells us.

Passionate about DIY, she studied crafts and clothing. After several years, she launched herself as a freelancer and offered collective workshops – or rentals – to create your furniture, your decoration. 🗄️🛠️

Upstairs, many original creations based on recycling with creators from the region. Stuffed animals, sponges, underpants, bags, jeans, ties, hats… we're not going to give you the whole list, you've got the idea. 🧸👔🪞

Our opinion ? Convinced! We are thinking of renovating a sideboard to store postcards in the tourist office shop. 😆

So, an afternoon hunting for thrift stores in La Roche-sur-Yon, are you tempted? 😉👕
