With the audio guide? No need for a time machine or a compass to navigate La Roche-sur-Yon through the ages!

But how does it work exactly?

We left as a duo for the afternoon to carry out this walk. To do this, nothing simpler. First, bring your best walking shoes. Then you will have to get the map of the city center and our funny key companion at the tourism office.

This companion is indeed very intuitive and easy to use. It helps to understand part of the history of the city, from the Renaissance to the present day, by walking through different emblematic places.

Get ready for a journey through time through the stories, anecdotes and architecture of the city's monuments. Stroll on the Place du Théâtre crossing its magnificent ephemeral garden, the Square Bayard or the famous Napoleon Square, commonly referred to by locals as “Nap Square”. We take advantage of this stopover to go and operate the Place animals.

For more than an hour, we stroll through the very city center, through 18 stages. This center is notably called "pentagon", for the recognizable shape of its layout by Napoleon's engineers, when the new town was created.

It is quite easy to imagine the city over the ages thanks to the explanations of the audioguide and the various panels that punctuate our journey.
