SAINT NICHOLAS CHURCH

Transition monument between the primitive novel and the classical novel, it was classified as a historical monument in 1908.

The Saint-Nicolas church, consecrated in 1099, was at the time the most important in Poitou. Despite the collapse of the apse, its majesty is still manifested in the astonishing elevation of its nave and in the light that falls from its bays. This height and this luminosity are quite exceptional in Romanesque churches.
