A craft workshop with living heritage

Since 1857, a pottery workshop has flourished in the heart of the commune of Nesmy, perpetuating a tradition rooted in a heritage passed down from generation to generation since 1867.

In 1857, Pierre Boisson, founder of the Poterie de Nesmy, left the hamlet of Château in La Vergne, a small village located just 2 km from the center of Nesmy, in the immediate vicinity of the clay deposits. He chose to settle in the center of the village, giving the pottery a new lease of life. After his death in 1867, his children handed over the workshop to Aimé Charpentreau, whose family continues to carry on this unique expertise today. In 2022, the fifth generation, represented by Sylvain and Raphaëlle Charpentreau, took over, thus ensuring the longevity of this century-old workshop.

Today, Sylvain and Raphaëlle Charpentreau passionately and respectfully perpetuate this magnificent heritage, putting their talent at the service of the land and honoring an exceptional artisanal tradition.
