Green Valley of the Yon

The Yon valley is the green lung of the city, it crosses La Roche-sur-Yon, from the Place des Frères Batiot in the center of the city, to rue Georges Mazurelle.

The Yon River is the nourishing mother of the vegetable gardens, private or family, that are dotted along its banks. Scattered with cattails, irises, rushes, phragmites, mint and other watercress, the banks of the Yon are managed by minimizing the impact of man in order to preserve a biodiversity of important species.
