The history of Gelencser chocolates is a real family saga that has its roots in many countries! La Roche-sur-Yon invites you to become an expert on chocolate thanks to its museum!

From 1956, the family house uses a rare process, called Bean to bar, which allows control of the entire chocolate production chain, from beans to all kinds of confectionery. Only about fifteen artisan chocolate makers in France use it. Discover the manufacturing secrets of a legendary company and learn about chocolate!

Established throughout the Vendée region, the Gelencser House opens in 2014 the first Chocolate Museum in Vendée, in La Roche-sur-Yon. Take part in a chocolate journey through time, to the heart of the history of cocoa. Over the six worlds to discover spread over more than 300m², the museum offers a real sensory journey punctuated of course by various tastings and activities to learn all about the history of chocolate and its manufacture. You will thus discover the whole history of cocoa.

In a glass corridor, you will be able to observe the chocolatiers at work and unravel their manufacturing secrets.
