Exhibition of photographs by Juliette Agnel, from June 4 to August 6 and from August 23 to September 24, in the Cyel contemporary art space in La Roche-sur-Yon. Open from Tuesday to Saturday
Photographer Juliette Agnel has traveled across Africa, traveled to Greenland and Sudan. She was able to capture the secret forces of these extreme landscapes. By using the assembly of two images, between day and night ("Les Nocturnes", "Taharqa et la nuit"), and the passage to the negative ("Les Porte de glace"), she transforms the landscape to the borders of the real, equidistant from the sublime and the strange.
With Juliette Agnel, the mineral is alive and whispers the secrets of past centuries; the starry skies halo humanity with dizzying intensity; ferns rise majestically. When light and shadow are reversed, the threshold of an enigmatic mirror-world appears on mysterious icebergs.
Juliette Agnel's gaze inspires, in the exhibition, a meditation on our place at the heart of the universe, but also on what being alive means.
Opening of the exhibition in the presence of the artist: Friday June 3 at 19 p.m.
