The Smoldering on the Embers exhibition offers a selection of pieces created in recent years by Katarina Kudelova in which the animal occupies a central place.

The animal enters into its production first as a parallel to human destiny. Through its wild and indomitable side, it embodies the eternal human aspiration for freedom and reveals in opposition our fear of the unknown, the irrational, ultimately of this much coveted freedom. Highly humanized, like a character in a fable, the animal here narrates the failings and existential questions of Man.
Finally, through the depiction of the animal, the artist evokes the balance of power always present within a group: the hierarchies between the hunter and the hunted, the strong and the weak, the predator and the prey.
