Photo exhibition "From the secret garden to the public garden"

Photography exhibition, from July 4 to September 26, at the Benjamin-Rabier media library in La Roche-sur-Yon.

With "From Secret Garden to Public Garden," the art library offers a comparative look at the art library's photography collection and a private collection, presented in six chapters: Landscape, Fragments, Experiments, Human Being, Plant Life, and Seaside. This retrospective exhibition invites visitors to discover the richness of two collections that, while each possessing its own unique characteristics, have evolved together.

Built up over nearly 30 years, the art library's collections offer an overview of major trends in contemporary photography, often echoing those of the Museum. Portraits, landscapes, objects, skillfully constructed or deliberately blurred compositions, famous or obscure artists, international photographers or those from the local area.

Jean Gorvan, a specialist and educator in photography, curated the exhibition using photographs from the art library and others from private collections, enhanced with period cameras and objects.

Exhibition open:
- from July 4 to August 29, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., and Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m. and from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m.
- from September 1st to 26th, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 12pm to 18pm, and Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 18pm.
Please note that opening hours may be adjusted during periods of heatwave warnings.
