Called the Chaize forest, this 600 hectare afforestation extends mainly to the commune of Fougeré.
Ferns, very present in this region, have also given their name to the town. The main access is organized by a network of numerous trails starting from the Lande Bonnaud picnic area.
Several private mansions and castles also make this walk attractive: let us mention the Logis de la Batardraie (XNUMXth century), the castle of Pierre Brune (XNUMXth century) and the remains of the Prieuré des Cerisiers (XNUMXth century) or the castle of the Etang Neuf with its park and deer.
